Sproughton Primary School’s Bold and Brand-New Playground Markings

We were delighted to be able to head a county over to help Sproughton Primary School in Ipswich, Suffolk, with their brand-new playground markings. 

What Did this Particular Primary School Need?

Lots of games and other playground markings that are designed for learning, as well as fun and exercise. This included some designs based on subjects that would normally be taught in the classroom, not outside on the playground.

1-100 Half Solid Snakes and Ladders

This vibrant take on a fun traditional playground game is a great way to get kids counting outside of Maths lessons. Have you got some big dice? Then all you need is our 1-100 Half Solid Snakes and Ladders to get started!

8 Point Compass

What better way to get pupils to learn their cardinal directions than with your very own 8-Point Compass? Place this in your playground so it’s facing the right way and get started on some easy outside lessons, especially for Geography.

Mirror Me

A custom-made version of our Copy Me markings, this game is great fun for pairs or even small groups if they switch in and out. It’s also perfect for developing coordination and strengthening social skills.

Netball & Basketball (without Basketball D)

It’s always best to start students early on the games they’ll be learning to play at higher levels once they get to secondary school. Putting down a combined Netball & Basketball (without Basketball D) court means kids at the primary school level can start practising their skills and learning the basics.

Noughts & Crosses

Break out the chalk to get started on a big game of Noughts & Crosses! This is mostly a game for thinking, but the movement means your kids will be getting some exercise in as they play too.

Phonics Shapes

You can think up all sorts of games to play while teaching from these Phonics Shapes. We’d recommend a timing game where children listen to you say a word and then have to run to the shape with the sound displayed.

What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?

Another traditional offering, our Mr Wolf game is another fantastic way to get kids counting while on the move and having fun.

World Map
This is the big one for Geography lessons. The World Map, complete with continents in different colours, can turn educational content into an easy game. For instance, if you take some chalk and give them a list of world capitals to mark out, you have yourself a fun activity for the afternoon.

Did We Face Any Challenges or Obstacles?

The main obstacle in this case study was that the customer was originally dealing with another contractor, which ended up taking too long to process. However, they kindly agreed that we could deal with the school directly. This allowed us to speed up the process and complete the installation of all requested playground markings on time.

What Are We Most Proud Of?

The fact that we understood the customer’s budget and helped them to achieve it. It can be difficult to keep within a set amount of money for a project like adding new playground markings, but with our team to help out it’s managed carefully. 

In this case, we would say that Sproughton Primary School truly got its money’s worth in playground markings, and we would be happy to work with them again.
